I first read this when I was 13. It was a time in my life when everything was in chaos. I was in a new town, I didn’t know anyone and was about to enter high school. I began my study of the craft out of curiosity but the more I read the more I felt I was at home. This set of “rules” stuck with me all through high school and even to college and beyond. Even though during college I stopped studying the craft for several reasons, it stayed with me in my heart.
There are a few lines of this poem that I am going to work at incorporating into my life as I am currently in need of more peace and positivity. I am going to work at speaking less than I listen, I am going to try my best to merrily meet everyone with a warm heart, and I promise to give as much as I take.
